Spotlight on Educators... As TxSSC travels throughout the state of Texas, we meet outstanding educators, students, teachers, parents, community members, and law enforcement officials. When we arrived in Clint, Texas (next to El Paso) we had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Morris Aldridge, principal of Clint High School. Mr. Aldridge has been in the education field for 20 years, 16 of which have been with Clint ISD. As we walked down the halls, it was obvious that students enjoyed being there. Clint HS provides several measures to ensure school safety including: having all students in an Advocacy Class that is designed to build relationships between the teacher and students, a SRO on campus, school safety presentations for students and staff, and a Student Crime Stoppers Group. Mr. Aldridge and Clint HS staff smiled, greeted, and acknowledged each student as they passed by. We salute Mr. Morris Aldridge and his fine staff for all they do for students and for making a difference in their communities! Taken from the Fall 2005 Newsletter of the Texas School Safety Center.
