Information Technology Institute

The Information Technology Institute at Mountain View High School gives students the opportunity to learn about computer fundamentals. It is a four-year program that prepares students to work in the field of Information Technology after high school.

The goals of the Information Technology Institute at Mountain View are focused on graduating students who are looking to a career in any of the following fields of Information Technology after high school:

  • Network Technician
  • Network Administrator
  • Tech Support
  • Web Design
  • Repair Technician
  • Database Developer
  • Computer Engineer
  • Information Technology Manager

And many more.

Students enrolled in the IT program at Mountain View from grades 9 through 12 will work towards:

  • A+ Certification, which will show that they have acquired the essential skills for computer hardware service and repair.
  • I-NET+ Certification, which shows that they have acquired essential knowledge of the Internet.
  • The Microsoft Certification, which shows that they can implement, configure, administer, and troubleshoot information systems.
  • An entry level Information Technology position upon graduating high school.

Each year, the IT program at Mountain View enrolls approximately 25 ninth graders from around the Clint Independent School District. Students interested in joining the IT program at Mountain View must fill in an application form, and will be screened for participation in the program.
