A big Lobo Howl goes out to Junior student Gracie Urias for being a published author in a book titled "Sparklers". Gracie received a "4" on her TAKS essay last year. Her English teacher, Mr. Dean, sent her essay to Gretchen Bernabei who publishes "Sparklers" every five years. The book is a collection of outstanding essays written on the TAKS test. To qualify, a student must first have gotten a "4" on their paper (which in itself is not a common thing). Gracie's paper was deemed good enough by Mrs. Bernabei and her editors to be placed in the new book. It is a great honor for Gracie to have had her paper published in this book. English teachers all over the state use these books to provide superior examples of writing for their students. Great job, Gracie! |
