• High-Quality Instructional Materials

    TEA defines high-quality materials as those that ensure full coverage of Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), align with research-based instructional strategies in each subject area, support all learners, and include: progress monitoring through embedded, aligned assessments.





  • 4.1 HQIM:

    The Department of Instructional Leadership will provide campuses with high-quality instructional materials with a district pacing tool for all core content areas with embedded support for all students, including special populations. The Department of Instructional Leadership will provide professional development to implement high-quality instructional materials focused on lesson internalization that will support the alignment of the identified scope and sequence, assessments, standards, and the expected level of rigor.

     

    • The Department of Instructional Leadership will provide HQIM implementation professional development for all teachers, including special education teachers, dual-language teachers, and instructional staff. 

     

    • The Department of Instructional Leadership will provide all teachers with a district pacing tool aligned to the district calendar. 

     

    • The Department of Instructional Leadership will provide an observational tool and coaching to campus leadership, focusing on measuring the fidelity of implementation of HQIM. 

     

    • The Department of Instructional Leadership will also provide PD on lesson internalization, focusing on standards analysis and rigor of instruction.  

     

    • The Department of Instructional Leadership will provide assessments to monitor progress throughout the implementation of HQIM.
