Making Masks to Keep our Employees Safe
The safety and well-being of our employees is always of great concern, especially during the current Coronavirus Pandemic with masks in high demand and short supply. Our child nutrition staff and our bus drivers work hard to prepare and distribute meals for our students each day. Our security officers continue to work 24/7 to keep the District safe and secure. Fortunately, the District was able to find solutions within the Clint ISD family to provide these employees with handmade masks through the assistance of our own staff and a Clint HS Alumnus.
Several Clint ISD bus drivers also repair our school bus upholstery when damaged. Marisela Lopez, Sonia Munoz, Blanca Hernandez, and Aurelia Flores are now putting those skills to work sewing masks for our employees who are preparing and distributing meals.
Elliott Knoch, a Clint High School Alumnus from the class of 2005, is giving back to the community by sewing much needed masks out of his family business. These masks will also be provided to our Clint ISD employees such as maintenance workers and security officers who are keeping our District safe and secure.
Over 200 of these masks have been distributed to Clint ISD employees with more expected to be ready in the next few weeks.
