Substitute teachers to receive pay during closure

In an effort to reduce substitute teacher turnover and help ensure the availability of substitute teachers and continuity of operations and staffing upon the re-opening of District campuses, the Clint ISD Board of Trustees during their regular board meeting on April 16, 2020, approved compensating substitute teachers during the District’s closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Clint ISD substitute teachers will receive two payments that will be calculated based on the substitute teacher’s average gross earnings in the months of January 2020 and February 2020. The payments will be made in April 2020 and May 2020. Substitute Teachers that did not receive gross earnings during January and February 2020 will not receive the payments.

Clint ISD regular employees have continued to receive compensation during the closure due to COVID-19.

Due to increased concerns regarding the Coronavirus (Covid-19) and as directed by the Department of Public Health, District students will not return to school for the remainder of the school year. The District will continue to implement all recommendations by the Department of Public Health.
